Welcome to my journey, I hope you will visit often...
Week of October 8th, 2007

I was just contacted by the writer producer that is looking for poetry for his upcoming movie! This is the job I applied for last week that I really wanted. I am very excited about the possibility of having my poetry included in a film and if I am the final one to be chosen for the project I will be credited and will share in a percentage of the sale of the script!

But this is only if I am the one to get the job, I have been looking for an exciting project and this is certainly one I would love to do but it not for certain. I really feel my poetry would be perfect for the character. I have already picked out a batch of poems that think would be great for this movie. I am keeping my fingers crossed for this one!!!

I am very sad to report that earlier this week my father became very ill again and had to be rushed to the hospital. It was touch and go for the first few days, but when my mother, sister and I visited him last night he was awake and alert and responding to us! He is weak and tired but he is getting better day by day and his doctors say he is doing very well, and we are very hopeful that my father will be ok!!
Have a great Friday and weekend everyone

Hey all,
I had a pretty productive writing night. I actually was able to write uninterrupted for several hours!
I finished three articles and I started writing what I believe is going to be a book about my father. I say this because that is one of the beauties of writing a writer never really knows where the writing journey will lead. You may start out writing one way and it could end up entirely different from your intentions.
The tentative title is going to be "The Long Journey Home" but I believe that has been used before. I know general titles are not copyright protected but I would like to have my own original title.

I also did some creative writing and added a few poems to my PoemHunter page. Located at: PoemHunter Poems
I am very tired now so I am going to take a break and then try to get a few more articles written before daylight. It nearly 6:30 AM here.
Here is a new acrostic I wrote a few weeks ago:

e vening tide gently
c ascades over jagged river rock
h ollow winds whisper
o minously through Magnolia trees
e nfolding darkness
s uffocates moonlight’s glow

Have a great day all
Hello Everyone,
I cannot believe it has been over four months since I have written here at Bravenet. My life has been hectic to say the least. My father fell ill late last year and needs daily care which me and my mother provide.
But my father is improving on a daily basis. Me and my father were talking tonight and he said he was ready to start exercising tomorrow and that the was looking forward to Spring so he can get outside and start doing things which is an excellent sign that he is getting better. Plus he had a great checkup a few weeks ago.

There will be days when I will complain, bitch and moan, but I will continue to take care of my father for as long as he needs me too because I know if it were me or my mother that were ill my father would do the same for us without fail or hesitation. I also will take care of him because I love my father and know he needs me and my mother more than ever to pull himself through this and live the rest of his life in better health. He has the will and determination he just needs a little encouraging and support right now which I am wiling to give him without fail or hesitation...

I have had very little energy to do anything else besides trying to find time to rest. I am so tired most days that I have very little energy or enthusiasm for writing. By the time I have some free time at night, I am so exhausted that I just do not feel like writing and I usually falls asleep on the couch.
My article writing is suffering. I am not turning out nearly as much copy as I was prior to my father’s illness. I was writing about five articles a day, now I am lucky if I can turn out two short ones a day, but I am starting to write a little bit more in the last few days. I just finished writing about six articles.
One great thing that happened is that I was hired to be a diet and nutrition writer for Bright Hub! I will focus on the importance of herbs, vitamins and fruits and vegetables. I believe in herbs, vitamins and eating healthy foods more than ever becasue I have seen them have a very positive effect on my father's health. No, I will not be able to retire with this gig but the exposure will be good for my article writing career and it will be a great addition to my resume.

I am a little upset because I was tuned down by Suite 101 to become a Health and Wellness writer but they did invite me to reapply after some time has passed. I am thinking about applying again next year, after I get some more experience writing diet and nutrition articles.
I also just applied to a really cool job. At least I think it is pretty cool. It is writing poetry for a character in a movie. I really would love to do this but I know the response was probably huge and I am sure it will be competitive, but it felt good to apply.
I have been applying for various online jobs on a daily basis and I am certain something good will turn up soon. I am still looking for that one permanent job where I write a daily blog or article. The jobs are out there I just have to wait until it is my time to get one.

I did get a direct order from a company to write articles and this was quite a surprise. I have never been contacted directly from a company to write articles. I have always worked through a broker. They were really impressed with my work and that makes me feel fantastic!! Hopefully this will lead into something more…
I better get back to my article writing…Have a FANTASTIC week everyone!!
Well Election Day is finally here! The choice is so clear for me and many other Americans, but will the vast majority of Americans do the right thing for the country? I have a feeling that we will but there is always that outside chance that all of the pundits and poll experts are wrong and McCain could squeak out a win.
The country will not be able to withstand that scenario, not this time, not with this urgency of now…but I honestly feel Obama and Biden will be our next President and Vice President!

It is so sad that Obama’s grandma could not hang on to see her grandson become president. It would have been so wonderful for him to be able to share that with the woman who raided him and helped shaped the brilliant man he became, but I am certain she is watching from Heaven and will continue to guide him on his journey I wish her much peace and my heart goes out to Barack and his family in their time of grief.
In a few hours I will be voting. I hope the lines are not too long, but I will stand as long as I have to cast my vote for Barack Obama!
I hope all of you in the United States will exercise your right to vote today!

Hello everyone,

I have written over twenty articles for this new employer and as I said before I have gotten very positive reviews from the editors and over the weekend I also got very positive reviews from the clients who request the articles. Most said they were very good or excellent. This is so good to hear because I really put a lot of effort into writing my articles. Sometimes I think I pay send too much time on one article. I have to start writing faster. The more articles I write the more money I will make, but I have this thing about detail.
The other article writing job that pays up to $75 per article is on hold for now. He was overwhelmed with articles and said he will not be able to read any more articles until mid-November. I knew writers would bombard with him material with that kind of pay! It isn’t seen that often on the beginning to mid-level freelance level. I sure hope he can use some of my work. I could use the extra cash for Christmas shopping. I cannot believe the holidays are just a few months away!
I may have a chance to write a blog, but he is looking at other applicants as well and will get back to me in a week or two. Two more of my articles were accepted for publication! So far all of my articles have been accepted. I sure wish these articles could be credited with my name, they are all ghostwritten, but I guess money is more important than vanity
I have a few articles I want to finish today, so I am going to get started.
Have a great week everyone!

I am such a geek, lol. I just wanted to say how much I LOVE the mouse my sister gave me. It is a made by Microsoft and it is so smoothe and fast! It zips along...
I got one article finished this morning and I am going to start another one in a few minutes. It won't take too long for new to catch up with my work.
Have a great Sunday everyone

The bad news for this week is that my mouse quit working and I do not have a spare one. I have had it for three years and that is about the average life of a mouse. I am gettting a little behind in my work because I am working the mouse with my finger and it is a pain in the you know what, lol. But I will get me a new one next month and my sister, Anna, is going to let me use one of her old ones in the time being. So I should be gettting back on track next week.

The good news of the week is that I am so happy to say that in just a short time I moved up in the rankings at my new job! They evaluated my first 10 articles and they loved my work! I will be earning more per article now and that is such great news!
It is always exciting when I earn money as a writer. It has to be one of the most difficult professions to make money in especially as a freelancer. I also heard from another company that will start giving me assignments in a few weeks. Plus I have a shot at writing for a company but I have to revise my "test" article and resubmit it. I will be doing that over the weekend. This would be great because they pay between $50-75 per article which is great pay in the freelance market today.
I would love to add a daily blogging job to my workload. I love blogging and I miss it. It is difficult to find a blogging job, at least for me it is. There are plenty available but I do not have the expertise for many of them. Most are finacially oriented, but I am going to keep looking until I find one. I would love one in the health field.

I am getting so nervous now that the Election Day is so close! In just a little over two weeks we will electing a new President. I am so hoping it will be Barack Obama and it looks as if he will win, but anything can happen in an election. We saw this just 4 years ago when John Kerry was way up in the polls and we all know how that turned out. Plus the same thing happened in 2000 with Gore, so I am very cautiously optimistic. If McCain wins I am gong to be sick for at least a week!

There are plenty of things that bother me about McCain but what really irks me is his standing on abortion, women's equal pay and his wanting to privatize health insurance and doing away with social security. Also he wants to get rid of medicare. McCain is a hero and I admire him for that, but if McCain does manage to win this country is going to be in dire trouble even more so than it is now, at least that is how I feel.
I have not been writing any creative works lately so I will leave you with an older haiku of mine:

Have a WONDERFUL weekend and week everyone

It has been a long time since I have written. I have not been feeling too good for the past week, and I did get a little behind on my work due to many factors. I have been sending out my resume on a daily basis and I have noticed it is getting harder and harder to obtain an online job, but I am happy to say that I got a new job this morning! The pay is not all that great but at least it is work in the field of my choice and I have potential to increase my earnings by writing more. The more I write the faster I will move up in the standings. It is a reputable web content company and I have read great things about the company. Writers report that they are fair and pay their writers on time and as of now it seems to be plenty of work for writers.

Another thing I am excited about is the conviction of O.J. Simpson over the weekend. I hate this man and I am so glad he will be going away hopefully for a very long time. It is very ironic that he was convicted 13 years to the date of his acquittal for double murder; nothing could be sweeter and just. I hope this conviction sticks and I hope the judge sends him away for the rest of his life. He is dangerous and violate person, and I feel if he is not put away the next time he will harm someone and perhaps even kill again.

I am also excited about Obama’s recent standing in the polls. He is leading in many major polls and in the national daily tracking poll. And he is leadign in Ohio which is a first for a Democrat. Ohio always votes Republican. Maybe this time it will be different. I truly hope these polls are correct because I think Obama is the only candidate that can get us out of this financial mess and start to rebuild this country. We need hope, solutions and someone who believes in all people not just one people and in my opinion McCain believes in the rich and only the rich.
I have a new poem I have been working on and I will share it with you here:

CROSS OF MY CALLING
hand-cuffed by
invisible chains
I taste freedom
just beyond
the bonds of my
self-imposed
slavery
I stand naked
and revealed
echoed
screams shatter
hollowness of this
vacant
room
Into reckless
eyes of uncertain
fate, I stare
and cling onto
the heels
of redemption
while praying
I am rescued
by the cross
of my calling.

I am feeling tired this morning. I have 6 short articles to finish by this Wednesday. I will be paid for them which is great, but I am not too interested in the subject. They are about loans and financing. I started my research last night and continued this morning and I have about half of them researched, but I got to motivate myself to get them finished.
I also applied for two jobs this morning. One is a health-related newsletter. I am really interested in this one because I have written many articles on the subject of health and I feel I am very qualified to write the newsletter. I sent them my resume and three writing samples now I have to wait and see. This would be a weekly job that pays pretty well.
I am itching to write more fiction and poetry too, but like always the time to do this is so very limited! I try to write something creative at least two or three times a week, but I should be writing something at least once a day...
Today is Barack Obama's birthday. He is 47 years old. Wow is he young to be running for President. Don't get me wrong I believe he is qualified and will make an excellent leader, but it just dawned on me how young he is and how much he already accomplished his relatively young life. I hope he has time to celebrate his special day with his loved ones and friends and has time to sit down and reflect on his incredible journey!
I wrote this poem a little while ago and I want to share it today:
BEYOND MEASURE
twisting winding roads
lead to an astounding
journey
nobody truly knows
where it will end
if the direction
of the path
is not veered
its gifts will be
vast and its
rewards will be
beyond measure

Hello All,
I have been applying for several online writing jobs this morning. I heard back from two yesterday. One I didn’t get, the other I have to do a test article before I know if I get the job. I hope I get another job this week or at least within the next 2 weeks. I really enjoy workng online. It gives me so much freedom and it is something I really enjoy doing.
I also joined Facebook and LinkedIn this week. I hope joining will lead to more jobs and connections. It is great to connect with people who are in the same field and who are seeking the same kind of work.
I have a few letters I want to get done, so I am going to cut out now/
